The Aega Morpho is one of the most vibrant species of morpho butterfly, which is how it got its name. Aega was a daughter of the ancient Greek god Helios (god of the Sun). She was said to be of such dazzling brightness that when the Titans attacked Olympus, they became frightened and begged their mother, Gaia, to conceal Aega in the earth.
