In the north-eastern corner of the Risinium archaeological site there is a room which is known, on the basis of the preserved stone thresholds, to have been connected to a longitudinal room in the eastern section of the structure, the back courtyard and with the adjacent room on the southern side.
In the central part of the room, in the central medallion, there is the image of Hypnos, the God of Sleep in a recumbent position. The god is presented as having slightly spread wings, with his head bent to the right. He is leaning on his right arm which is resting on a pillow. The medallion is placed in the centre of the square field divided into 16 smaller squares filled with stylized poppy blossoms. It has been known since ancient times that poppy essence was used as sedative and soporific.
