DJ/BA00697. The figures and land in Zabaleta`s paintings usually appear with the same intensity, with paint which is not blended much, with the forms taking on a symmetrical balance. In his works, at least two generations are always represented, such as in this "Maternidad" (Motherhood), with its distant echoes of the Virgin and Child.
