The handkerchief, in ivory-colored silk, has an indication of responsibility along the edge: "Lith. De la Manufacture Heim et fils a St. Gall". Under each bust is the name of the character portrayed. Napoleon's head is depicted within a luminous halo in which it is written: "N-A-P-O-L-E-O-N".
