Suhas Nimbalkar is known for his bright abstract paintings. After completing his training at Baroda in 1967, Nimbalkar spent a few months travelling in Nepal, where he saw the Himalayas for the first time. Inspired by them, he began painting mountains and gradually abstracted them into tiny triangles.
After the birth of his daughter, he started incorporating fairly-like figures in his paintings as a tribute to her love for fairy tales. This work is probably from this phase of his career.
