Double-sided music stand with trompe l'oeil sheet music painted on each side. Hexagonal shaped legs. One side of stand is painted with the ballad "Dearest Ellen" (published 1811-1812), the other has "Verses for the Fourth of July." Cherry legs and cross braces; soft birch cradle over tulip polar medial deck; larger side stands ash and pine; compartment white pine. Surface has grey base coat and green top coat. Mortise and tenon construction in the uprights and rails. Forged nails and hand cut screws.
