Moving figurine ‘Priest’

Rafael Bordalo’s moving figurines are some of his finest creations. Uniquely decorative, they are composed of three parts (legs, trunk and head) joined together by hinges. At the slightest vibration, they echo the movement of the human figure, lending them an element of humour.
Criticism of the Church and the clergy takes shape in this caricature of a priest, who is getting ready to take a pinch of snuff. The priest wears a cassock and a skullcap. This piece was mass produced.
