The Mr. Potato Head play set has sold well since its introduction in 1954. It was the first toy to be advertised on television and it helped cement the success story of toy manufacturing giant Hasbro. The toy's popularity reached a new generation of children when it was featured in the film "Toy Story" in 1995. And then, in 2000, it was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong.
