A white stork taking flight, on an ocher background with 24 blue eyes in the air and 19 in the ground.
From his beginning in the artistic scene of mid 20th century in Mexico, Arévalo was in favor of a separation between arts and politics. He always considered himself an artist from Jalisco, althought he lived for many years in Mexico City and other parts of the country. Arévola's work was always between being an artist and a teacher. He concentrated himself on large and small format painting also on graphic work. His work have presence in and out Mexico.
Here we have a stork an animal commonly seen near rivers, lagoons and lakes. The stork is taking care of its eggs, at the same time that it has been observed by more than forty eyes.
Its title "Ojo con la cigüeña" can be understand as taking care of the stork or take you care from the stork. This latter is reinforced because the stork don't have a quite pose at all.
