During his rule Shah Jehan built two carpet factories situated in Lahore and Agra, respectively. He invited many skillful carpet weavers from Iran which brought many unique designs along with them. Originally, the carpet was red and green in color made on 1/2 pattern. However, as it aged the the color has faded into different shades of brown.
Upon focusing on the design, initially flowers, vases and birds are visible in the pattern. on further concentration pattern of a human face is visibly weaved into the carpet. The carpet is also called "The General's Carpet"
