Manuel Felguérez is a multidisciplinary artist who used different forms of abstraction.
Felguérez said in multiple time that his art is related to Europe and that relationship is evident in "Mujer de Salgados ". The name makes a refference to a Neolitic marble sculpture found on the island of Saliagos named "The Fat Lady of Saliagos", in addition the shape the talavera piece has similarities.
