There are surrealism elements at this plate are the heads floating in the center. The buildings on the edge of the circle are commonly found in the center of every city in Mexico: a church, government palace and another two building with architectural features typical of these sites. From the church and the government palace two arms grow on each as an invitation to enter. From the other building three pairs of faces in profile, one reminds to Janus the roman god of duality linking the plate to surrealism and metaphysical art.
Rodolfo Morales is a Mexican artist considered surrealist, despite the fact his paintings are quite well known, he works ceramic and talavera.
