Mummy chest for a falcon

This beautifully painted chest was intended to serve as a mummy chest for a falcon. It was made in the form of a temple. Rich Egyptians could buy a chest to go with a falcon mummy. The chest and mummy would be presented as an offering to a god with the head or body of a falcon, such as Horus.
