The Catholic parish church of St. Maximilian was consecrated on October 6, 1901. Heinrich Freiherr von Schmidt prevailed with his design in an architectural competition. St. Maximilian was built as a neo-Romanesque, three-nave basilica in the years from 1895 to 1901.
