Predecessor building, view from the north

The Lutheran parish church of St. Matthew, called Matthäuskirche, was the first Protestant church in Munich. The first building seen here, erected from 1827 to 1833, was a post-classical rotunda. The church was located on Karlsplatz (Stacchus) at the corner of Schwanthalerstraße and Herzogspitalstraße.
