Alfresco painting of a peacock moving to the left amid plant and floral decoration. This zoomorphic representation symbolised eternity and decorated the courtyard of a suburban “domus”, very close to the “larari” (domestic family altar). In its beak the peacock has what looks like a pomegranate, also an attribute of the goddess Hera, and in the background there appears to be pomegranate tree.
