The Entrance Court to the Gibberd Garden between the barn and the garage. The two murals opposite the entrance gates are of enamel on steel by Stephen Knapp and were trials for panels set into the glass facade of Terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport. Sir Frederick wrote, 'Cars can now go no further than the garage forecourt. The house is surrounded by garden. The family did not like it (the children called it the M1). It meant carrying everything between the garage and the front door. However, some sacrifices in the interest of art are justifiable.'
