Murals created during the Open Playful Space

"Open Playful Space" was designed with the aim of creating new spaces to be shared through sport, game and street art, regenerating the suburbs and inviting young people to experience their city freely, claiming the right to occupy and take care of it, creating a virtuous circle that leads to urban regeneration in the city. Better than others, this city has shown how people can be brought to life by regaining possession of forgotten spaces.
Open Playful Space is a programme of events full of workshops, experiments and performances that began in 2018 and reached its climax in 2019, with the original production "TransformAction".
The event took place with concurrent activities and events included in "Move Week" initiative, an international event that connected Matera to the rest of Europe.
