In ancient Etruscan Bologna, communal consumption of wine and certain foods, especially meat, held great social significance. These rituals, largely influenced by the Near East and Greece, were central to the community of the living. Banquets and symposia, where wine was enjoyed, were also integral to funerary rituals, as evidenced by these objects, primarily related to wine preparation and consumption, found in an Etruscan tomb in Bologna.
