The tintinnabulum is a ritual jewel typical of the early history of Etruscan Bologna. Some of the most characteristic activities of Etruscan, but also Greek and Roman women are depicted on this artefact: spinning and weaving. Exclusively female activities to be proudly displayed, rich in social prestige to the point of being depicted on this precious pendant, and which in mythology were even the prerogative of a queen, as shown by Penelope, Ulysses' wife, intent on weaving an endless web while awaiting the return of her beloved.
