A symbol of wealth and love, wall mirrors were a prized possession. This ornate mirror, created by the Embriachi workshop, reveals the lavish gifts bestowed upon newlyweds in Bologna. Made from bone, originally gilded, and wood, it features geometric "Certosina" frames. The cupid atop the mirror signifies love, while the shields represent the families joined in marriage – these shields were painted with family crests at the time of purchase, creating a personalized treasure.
