Bologna's chocolate tradition dates back to 1796 when Teresina Majani opened a confectionery factory. The company received numerous awards abroad and in Italy, becoming the official supplier of the House of Savoy. Today it is still known for two products in particular: "cioccolata scorza," the first solid chocolate in Italy, and the four-layer "FIAT" cremino, created for advertising purposes for the Turin car manufacturer.
