Arturo Gazzoni was a versatile entrepreneur in early 20th-century Bologna. He started with a wine and oil shop, transforming it into a chemical, medicinal, and natural products company. He created the famous Idrolitina powder for making sparkling water and various pharmaceutical products like an anti-neurotic that was reportedly appreciated even by Lombroso, and an odorless and tasteless purgative suitable even for the most refined palates.
