The history of Lamacart Group has very deep roots and represents the story of an Italy that works with passion, tenacity and resilience. The Nicolis have been entrepreneurs in the recovery and recycling of waste paper for over 80 years. The beginning dates back to 1934 when Francesco, father of Luciano Nicolis, sensitive to all forms of saving and gifted with acute intelligence, decided to collect what others throw away: waste paper. With the help of his sons, the business expanded rapidly and in just a few years Luciano managed to give it a further boost, transforming a small family business into a large industrial company, a reference point in the environmental services sector. Entrepreneurship, a propensity for risk and intuition about the potential of a market in its infancy are the factors that guide Luciano Nicolis' choices, who focuses on an activity that is 'unconventional' for the time. In 1963, he set up Lamacart in its current form, structured it and organised it in a modern way, presenting itself to the public and private markets as an efficient, reliable and competent partner in paper recovery.
A choice that is rewarded over time, which step by step, plays an active role in the rapid growth of the global market that is now defined as the 'Circular Economy'. In the 1990s, Thomas Nicolis, the company's current president and a dynamic exponent of the third generation of entrepreneurs, joined the company. It was his task to give Lamacart a further boost through technological innovation, process rationalisation and, above all, a constant projection towards the future that enables the Group to operate in an increasingly up-to-date and competitive manner, with a strong focus on the Environment.
