The Aurora 88 was introduced on the market in 1947, after production was moved to the new factories located in Strada dell'Abbazia di Stura. The pen, designed by the famous industrial designer Marcello Nizzoli, can be considered as the answer to new stylistic trends. It was a huge success and is the main, if not the only, model produced by Aurora in the post-war period. Supported by a careful and intense advertising campaign and by a reorganized sales system, the 88, more advanced than Parker's competitor 51 to which it refers, after some initial difficulties recorded great success in Italy and abroad, on the European and Americans.
It is immediate confirmation of the forecasts and the quality of the programs, based on the production of a single model, albeit with caps of different materials and values, flanked by a range of new productions of a complementary nature (inks, writing paper, pencils).
