Foscarini family wanted to remember their guests the role of aristocracy as an example of virtue. During wartime a gentleman must solve conflicts through diplomacy instead of armed struggle, as seen in the background (a tribute to their founder Jacopo, peacemaker in the Mediterranean area after the Lepanto battle). with Eloquence (with a watch on the hand, because the words are more convincing when they are measured), but he is forced to sacrifice the Truth (recognisable because naked, with a white scarf only to highlight the innocence); she has to be hide (only the back is visible) in the name of the recovered harmony
