Sonni was part of a generation of artists who brought aesthetics from animation, illustration and graphic design to the streets in the aftermath of the 2001 crisis.

His brightly coloured works occasionally hint at the darker context of the streets they inhabit, however many of his works exude pure joy through their bold primary colours and smiling characters.
