“'A Tear in Time' was inspired by dancer Sabine Kupferberg. Often, I choose a person as the starting point for my ballets. I like a specific character, with a certain movement. Even when I am working with a group, I focus on the individual aspects. Maybe it has something to do with my love for theatre. I don’t belong to the group of, let’s say, monomaniac choreographers. I do dance as well as theatre. In my ballets I often use my theatric experience. I work with voice and use other theatrical aspects.” - Alida Chase
