My Grandfather in Auschwitz

Holzhandler's imaginary portrait of her grandfather, who perished in Auschwitz, was made 17 years after the end of the Second World War as an act of reflection and commemoration. It is the only one of her paintings that makes direct reference to the Holocaust.
