Some artists want their paintings to have a finished look. I do not see the point. Least because the most important events in my life were never finished, and yet they somehow managed to give me a feeling of completeness. The painting is made for the song of George Michael «They Won't Go When I Go». The History of Creation of My Nusch. I received many comments about the picture "moynyush", and would like to tell a little bit more about her. Picasso and Dora Mar, along with their friends Paul Eluard and Madame Eluard, (who in their bohemian company was simply known as Nusch) often spent time together in the South of France. Nusch was the soul of a company, a true art muse, beautiful, and photogenic. There are many snapshots of her posing, for example for Man Ray. Many artists loved painting her. Then she died suddenly. It was a great loss to the creative world. Picasso himself was deeply aggrieved by the loss Nusch with whom he had no affairs. Two significant paintings remained. I have them attached to the email. In the art world, especially appreciated was the painting called Nusch. Yesterday I visited my friend Sergei Kupriyatnova. He is the founder of "kuprism":) and also heads the Union of Russian Abstractionists. He showed me his collection, and suddenly behind the cupboard I noticed his reproduction of the painting "Nusch". The following dialogue took place between us. I -- This is Picasso! Kuprianov -- Yes, but I made the background blue whereas in Picasso's version it is white. I -- Do you know who you painted? Kuprianov -- No. I -- Eluard Nusch. Strange that among 4000 female portraits of Picasso you decided to paint this particular one. She has been the muse of many artists. On the way home I thought about this woman, about her amazing ability to inspire, to delight, to leave, depriving the society, but still continue in some way to secretly enter the paintings that did not even know about her existence. I decided to paint Nusch on the border of all the worlds that she embodied. Like a muse, she traveled the vast desert, got tired, curled up, and surrendered.... but has not lost her charm even when surrendered. This is "My Nusch". Arsen Levonee.
