This edition of the Lotus Sutra of Marvelous Law, an important scripture in the Tiantai School (天台宗), was published in small characters based on the 1126 commentaries by Jiehuan (戒環), a Song dynasty monk. Considering the size of the characters in Monk Jiehuan’s edition of the Lotus Sutra of Marvelous Law to be too large in size, this small-font Goryeo edition was published in 1382 after Lord Suyeon (壽延君), Wang Gyu (王珪), and others made donations, with Monk Jitan (Jiseon) of Goryeo rewriting the contents in small characters.
