Myrna Wisdom

Myrna Wisdom was born in Amber Valley (formerly Pine Creek), Alberta. Wisdom is the granddaughter of two Black pioneer families who settled in Amber Valley. Her paternal grandparents were Willis and Jeannie Bowen (née Thigpen); Willis was born in Greenville, Alabama, and Jeannie was born in Evergreen, Alabama. Wisdom’s maternal grandparents, Samuel and Beulah Carothers (née Heslep), were from a small town in Lee County, Texas.
