This ceremonial flag was used in the first-level (largest) and second-level processions. A mythical beast Baetaek was believed to appear during the reign of a venerable king. It was considered to be able to speak, be all-knowing, therefore, virtuous. The beast has been depicted to have a dragon head with blue hair and four feet.
