Nabejaya: Elegant House of Wood

Nabejaya was founded in 1846 at the end of the Edo period. It was constructed entirely out of wood, making its size and design that much more impressive. In this image you can see how the floors are at different heights and the pine trees help to block the view between rooms across the courtyard.
