This nameplate once sat on Maggie Walker's desk in the St. Luke Hall. It displays her lofty title: Right Worthy Grand Secretary Treasurer of the Independent Order of St. Luke. Though initially elected as the Right Worthy Secretary in 1899, by 1904 the position was upgraded to Secretary Treasurer - a position she held until her death in 1934.
