Nandi is a male ox, the mount of the God Śiwa. This stone statue of Nandi was found at the Singasari complex of Temples in East Java. The Singasari Kingdom flourished during the 13th century and was famous for its refined works of art. The Nandi is reclining on a bed of double lotuses and its front left foot is slightly raised, on its neck the Nandi wears several necklaces, such as pearls, floral garlands, and one with a bell. And on its back is a saddle adorned with a motif of leaves, and a belt that encircles its abdomen.
