Napoleon on Saint Helena, n 29

Deprived of his duties for good, Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled to the island of Saint Helena on October 15, 1815. He made this trip aboard the Northumberland.
An isolated island in the south Atlantic, almost 1,245 miles (2,000 km) from the coast of West Africa, Saint Helena will be the last home of the former emperor.
He is nevertheless accompanied by several loyalists, including Henri-Gatien Bertrand, Grand Marshal of the Palace.
Without commentary, this plate shows a defeated Napoleon, trampling on medals and piles of weapons.
To the protagonist's right rests a flag of the French Empire, mounted on a bayonet.
At the top of the image, Georgin illustrates an eagle, the symbol of the Empire, carrying an olive branch with leaves bearing the names of the battles won by the Emperor.
