AnonimoSecond half of the 19th Century

Fondazione Museo Glauco Lombardi

Fondazione Museo Glauco Lombardi
Parma, Italy

The object, depicting an idealized tomb of Napoleon, recognizable by the 'N' on the front and the typical hat resting on top on a cushion, has a bronze structure, with brass details. The lid, a parallelepiped bordered by geometric ornaments, separates from the trapezoidal base supported by four lion feet, revealing the two removable ink vessels and two small pen compartments inside. This entire block can be removed, revealing a third layer, or a small slab which, in turn raised, hides the body of the former Emperor.
