The post-war period with its despair and its countless opportunities lawlessness for was a propitious time for anyone who wanted to seek his fortune illegally. With the presence of the US fleet in the Gulf of Naples, he began a thriving contraband cigarette market, started with illegal trade, especially from the old fishermen of the historic district of Saint Lucia, which is close to the port, and prospicience the bay, that facilitated this traffic, conducted with the fishing boats. In the early '70s, smuggling became a considerable source of income by developing its traffic with the free market of cigarette, directly from the store house of the big tobacco multinationals, locate in Rotterdam.
