In June and July 1944, the National Buildings Record (NBR) put on an exhibition of photographs and drawings relating to its work. It was hosted by the National Gallery, London. The exhibition later went on to tour twenty-six towns outside of London. The NBR was established in 1941 to compile and create records of buildings of merit that were under threat from aerial bombing.
