National Glory Napoleon

PELLERIN19th century

Musée Bertrand
Châteauroux, France

This National Glory establishes the codes that can be found in all the National Glories of Pellerin.
The protagonist, here Napoleon, is represented in the center of the image, in a crown of oak leaves, flanked by two columns to his left and to his right on which appear the names of his main victories as well as the inscription “Glory and Homeland.”
Above the crown is an eagle, the symbol of the Empire.
Below Napoleon's portrait is an illustration of the famous Battle of Austerlitz.
As usual, the Pellerin printing press accompanied the print with a commentary.
