National WWI Memorial

Searching for the new world war one memorial concept we should carefully question ourselves about the meaning of the word "memory". As a nation of people that is aware of its identity, we feel responsibility for commemorating the past, glorifying the creators of our day-to-day life. Architecture, considered both as a form of art and the expression of feelings, should help us to distinguish positive or negative aspects of our history.
At this point we should make a? – Do we really need to remember the war as a set of actions, that led to personal and national tragedies, and gave us nothing in return both winners and losers suffer from losses, while not discarding the feelings of hatred and anxiety. World War I was merely a stop before a huge conflict arose between 1939 and 1945. Rather than creating the memorial that will only glorify the heroes from the past we put the spotlight on those who deal with current political and cultural issues, the casual American citizen.
