"These two panels showing the Nativity and the Resurrection of Christ are housed in the Maricel Museum. They formed part of the main altarpiece of the church of Sant Pere de Cubells, in Lleida. Besides these two compositions that formed part of the predella, nine paintings showing the life of St. Peter and the Epiphany Table belong to private collections in Barcelona and the Fine Arts Museum in Bilbao; the frieze’s other three scenes are housed in the National Art Museum in Catalonia.
This altarpiece was one of the most important works to be produced during this period, not only because of the breadth of the narrative of the Saint’s life – only two compositions appear to be missing, but also due to the new typological features of the series and the high quality of the painting."
