Nautical chart signed by Pietro Russo in Messina in 1508. "I, Pietru Russu, composed this chart in the noble town of Messina in the year of our Lord 1508 [...] on 10th December". Illustrated on plain parchment with the neck on the Western side, and including certain notable iconographic features, such as Scotland shown separated from England, and the ancient kingdom of Granada as still being independent, even though 16 years had passed since these lands had been taken by the Catholic Monarchs. Also includes other characteristic features of Mallorcan cartography such as “Atlas gores", "Danubio in chain", and with cities highlighted and marked by flags, such as Genoa, Venice, Cairo, Damascus and Jerusalem.
