Naturalia - products of nature, were very popular in the decoration of the dishes of the Mannerist period. The most valued exotic shells caught from the waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans - original, expensive and rare were treated as a unique artistic material.
Nautilus is a beaker made of Nautilus shells with a figurine of Neptune sitting on a ball. The shell was forged in openwork grotesques.
