Navy blue, white and red cotton dress printed with a banded abstract design. Short sleeves, buttoned front, faux placket pockets on the bust, zip fastening under one arm, full circular skirt. The textile pattern for this dress was commissioned from the artist Graham Sutherland in around 1949. The dress featured in the Queen Magazine in May 1951. Purchased with the assistance of the V&A Purchase Grant Fund, the NACF and the Friends of the Harris.
