Museu Imperial
Petrópolis, Brazil

Do not have iconographic document showing that the necklace really was Leopoldina, but it is jewel of great symbolic value. It consists of 19 beads in the form of armillary sphere with ribbons indicated each of the 19 provinces that made up the Empire. The three most important provinces - Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais - were placed in the collar prominent place - in the center, attached directly to the face of the imperial crown. The set is connected by branches of coffee and tobacco, sources of wealth of this period
