Necklace

Schlichtegroll

London, United Kingdom

The necklace is part of a larger set or parure. This includes a bracelet, brooch and earrings. These pieces were made about 1855 but were inspired by 17th century jewellery. They were specially designed to be mass produced cheaply from standardised component parts. The V&A bought this set as an example of excellence in inexpensive production.
