This necklace made of thin rectangular pieces of wood cut from mutanga (cassine buchananii loess calastracecea) tree. The pieces are threaded onto a thick piece of iron wire and opposite the clasp is a flattened conus shell sewn with green wood. Either sides of the clasp are two panels of six or four brass tie pins wedged together with wood and sewn onto necklace with green wool.Either side of clasp flattened brass panels incised to look like tie-pins sewn on with green and blue wool. The necklace is made and worn by old women.
