"Negro School Houses; good and bad"

This photograph depicts a African American school in Greene County, Ga. between 1940 and 1941. The photographer was Jack Delano from the Farm Security Administration. Arthur Franklin Raper, the creator of the collection in which this photograph appears, was interested in rural poverty in the depression era south.
